Customizing Your Toolbar

We have customized a productive toolbar that you can download and use just one toolbar to help automate your actions and make you more productive. The following toolbar has most of the features that you will use most and is in coordination with our scheduling templates. If you are scheduling outside of our Templates, you can just activate another toolbar.

We have created macros for the following buttons:
 
Summary View
  Shows the Gantt Chart > Entry Table > Filters for All Tasks > Sorts By Priority # and then by Start Date
   
Cascading View
  Shows the Gantt Chart > Entry Table > Filters For All_Incomplete Subtasks > Sorts By Start Date
   
Tracking
  Shows the Tracking Gantt Chart > Tracking Table > Filters For All_Incomplete Subtasks > Sorts By Start Date
   
Responsibility
  Inserts the Responsibility column with the Entry Table
   
Monthly Cash Flow
  Brings up the Monthly Cash Flow Report

You can download and install the toolbar but you will have to install the macros on your hard drive. We have made this a simple process with the following instructions:

Instructions for downloading the toolbar and installing the macros:

  1. Download the toolbar & macros

    When you click to download, unzip to the default location C:\Project Scheduling\Toolbars

Click Here to download the toolbar & macros

  1. Open the Toolbar.mpp file
     

  2. Click Tools > Organizer
     

  3. Click on the Toolbar Tab
    Make sure that 'GLOBAL.MPT' is on one side of the organizer and 'Toolbar' is on the other side of the view window.
     

  4. Highlight the 'constructionscheduling.com' and click << Copy to the GLOBAL.MPT file.
     

  5. The new Toolbar will now appear in your project file and will show up in all projects files.
    If you have another or other toolbars showing, you can hide them by right clicking in the toolbar area to deselect them.
     

  6. Close out of the Organizer
     

  7. Click on Tools > Macro > Visual Basic Editor
    While you are still in the Toolbar.mpp file
     

  8. Activate the top left Explorer window by clicking on the title bar as shown;

  1. Make sure you are in the Project Global (GLOBAL.MPT) folder list.
     

  2. Click on the + sign on the ProjectGlogal (GLOBAL.MPT) to show all subfolders (if not already expanded)
     

  3. Right click on the Modules folder as shown above.
     

  4. Click Import File... on the menu.
     

  5. Browse to the C:\Project Scheduling\Toolbars folder as shown below;

  1. Select Cascading_View.bas and click Open.
     

  2. Highlight the Modules folder again and repeat the procedure to install the remaining Macros.
     

  3. Close out of the Visual Basic Editor.
     

  4. Done!

All of your project files will have this toolbar and automated buttons available.

You can activate or hide this toolbar by right clicking in the toolbar area and selecting or deselecting the constructionscheduling.com toolbar. You can also move, add or delete buttons to serve your individual preference.
